Modern agricultural machinery requires the right lubricating oils
Over the last few years, developments in design and technology in the broader automotive sector have also extended to the area of vehicles and machinery working in the agricultural industry. The technical solutions currently applied in modern agricultural tractors or combine harvesters are becoming more and more advanced and thus require the use of appropriate lubricants. The latest Revline Farm product range is aimed precisely at all users of these machines.
Modern tractors fitted with turbocharged diesel engines are ever more frequently equipped with exhaust after-treatment systems such as DPFs. It is for such vehicles that synthetic engine oils REVLINE FARM MOTOR LA 10W/40 and REVLINE FARM MOTOR LA 10W/30 are designed. For other engines, the REVLINE FARM MOTOR LA 15W/40, REVLINE FARM MOTOR 15W/40 or REVLINE FARM MOTOR 15W/50 oils can be used, as a rule.
4×4 drives on agricultural tractors are now almost commonplace. With such a drive comes a system commonly referred to as ‘Limited Slip’. The use of LSD (Limited Slip Differential) means that torque is transmitted via the differential to both wheels of the drive axle, even though the wheels are on surfaces with different levels of grip. This solution absolutely requires the use of a suitable gear oil. Only the REVLINE FARM GEAR OIL LS 80W/90 or REVLINE FARM GEAR OIL 90 LS products will perform well in such a heavily loaded transmission.
Further components of agricultural machinery technology are modern gearboxes. The first type is the CVT (Continously Variable Transmission) transmission. This is a continuously variable transmission with an infinite number of ratios, achieved without disengaging the drive. Operation is based on changing the diameters on which the belt or chain that connects the two shafts of the transmission rotates. It is usually fitted to higher-powered tractors. Individual manufacturers give their own names to these types of transmission, e.g. CVX by CASE, Auto Commandfirmy by New Holland, Auto Power by John Deere or Vario by Fendt. Another, and very different type of transmission is the Powershift. This is a dual-clutch transmission, using two independently operating mechanical gearboxes. It is mostly used on medium-sized and smaller agricultural tractors. Examples are the Elektro Command, Auto Command or Active Elektro Command transmissions on New Holland brands, the Direct Driver on John Deere brands or the Hitach-5 winches on Valtra. For all these types of transmissions (CVT, Powershift), there are multifunctional high-performance STOU and UTTO oils: REVLINE FARM STOU MC 10W/40, REVLINE FARM STOU 10W/30 and REVLINE FARM UTTO MP 10W/30. These products are also perfect for wet brake systems, which are increasingly used in tractors for better efficiency in difficult conditions.
Hydraulic systems are an indispensable part of the technology of agricultural machinery and any accessory equipment. Such equipment is used under extremely varied operating conditions and requires the hydraulic oil to be resistant to radically different operating temperatures. A high viscosity index is one of the characteristics of such an oil. In this case, we strongly recommend REVLINE FARM HYDRAULIC HVI 46.
The products of the Revline FARM line meet the requirements of agricultural machinery manufacturers and, at the same time, are interchangeable with “premium” oils offered by competitors. They are available in 20 and 200 litre containers. The 20-litre container is also equipped with an additional vent plug, which makes the process of filling the system with oil faster and safer.
